I’m Lauren Tobey—writer, speaker, and creator of the Spiral Framework.
I do this work because being “fine” nearly broke me. I wasn’t falling apart—I was numb, functional, and quietly exhausted. When I went looking for answers, I found either soft advice that never touched the root or clinical explanations that didn’t help me live.
So I started naming what was actually happening.
My work is about understanding survival patterns—shutdown, control, overfunctioning—and removing the shame from them. I don’t fix people. I give language to experiences that finally make sense, because recognition restores choice.
Change isn’t linear. You don’t go backward because you failed. You return with more awareness.
If you’re high-functioning, capable, and tired of being told to try harder—this is for you.
Nothing is wrong with you.
So, What Is The Spiral?

The Spiral is a framework for understanding how people actually move through trauma, overwhelm, and change. Not in straight lines. Not in neat stages. But in returns.
You don’t go back because you failed.
You return because your nervous system revisits what hasn’t been fully integrated—each time with more awareness, more choice, and more capacity.
The Spiral names what’s been happening beneath the surface: shutdown, awareness, movement, and integration. It replaces “What’s wrong with me?” with a better question: “Where am I right now—and what actually works here?”
You’re not going in circles.
You’re spiraling upward.
